I wanted to play with the definition of the word Asylum
I can’t sleep—too many Voices.
Awaken to an awful problem:
Nightingales have come to collect me—
To place in a house of Bedlam.

A chorus of Screams and crying—
I lie on a rubber floor
And hear the staff go home for the Night—
Turn the lights out—lock the door.

They’ve disgust—for all us verrückt.
Masked—through sarcastic kindness—
When I can bear the strain no longer
I succumb—to the cries of madness.

The whispers flood my ears—
Orderlies ignore my pain
I’m trapped in here—forever.
For none dare call me sane.

My arms—eternally bound—
I pray my reaping Savior come—
To fulfill my one desire:
I seek true Asylum.
