A poem about a girl becoming older
Ever since I was a child
I have had a garden of lilies
Just like other girls.

As we got older
The flowers of the other girls
Began to die.

I was proud of my garden
And I swore to take care of it.
Then you came along.

You walked into my garden
Because you loved me,
And slowly, my flowers began to wilt.

You came to my garden the other day
To love me and to hold me,
Directing my attention away.

And now I am no different from those other girls
As I sit here waiting in my garden,
Wondering when my lilies will die.
