Writer's Cramp entry-Prompts: zombie revolution, crepuscular, twilight, innocent bystander

It was that dancing dog that clinched it,

The icing on the cake.

Or maybe the top ten Youtube guy,

Duetting with a hake.

Either way it’s showbiz legacy:

The day they chose to wake.

Sick of conceited, talentless I am’s,

Wallets green as faces,

The golden oldies met for dinner,

Settled times and places.

It was time to teach these younger folk,

Lessons in airs and graces.

MTV’s filming – fevers are high –

And Miley is on stage,

A booming war cry, then they ambush,

With Bieber in a cage,

An innocent bystander trampled,

In the seniors’ red rage.

Zombie revolution had begun,

Fear and false teeth were rife,

Neil Diamond brought a flamethrower -

That gave the party life.

These crepuscular stars had the stage,

Victory won by strife.

Ginger Spice surfaced and grabbed the mic,

And launched into appeal.

Starting with war chants, then a heart cry,

Anger into zeal,

While the crowd were wooed from cowering –

They began to feel.

She spoke of a long, long time ago,

When artists were just that.

The distorted memory of a dream –

It all came flooding back –

The childhood of songs that soared sky high,

While ambitions – lay flat.
