Making mistakes when learning a language.
Spanish is something I’m learning each day;
learning to master it is up to me.
Making mistakes is the price that I pay.

Uno and dos did not stand in my way;
but I heard laughter when I got to three.
Spanish is something I’m learning each day.

I saw rolled eyes when I gave the okay;
for I mistakenly blurted out oui.
Making mistakes is the price that I pay.

Then major mockery managed to play,
when I said por favor instead of gee.
Spanish is something I’m learning each day.

I wondered why so I needed por qué;
but when I said Parkay I heard tee-hee.
Making mistakes is the price that I pay.

Learning a language can cause one to stray;
yet stray and faux pas assist memory.
Spanish is something I’m learning each day;
making mistakes is the price that I pay.
