Encompassing a lost romance into the beauty of nature...
There were faces in grey satin wandering across the sky
Lonely travellers brushed shoulders as they passed each other by,
As the evening unravelled in its own mysterious way
Through lamplight painted dancers that reached out towards the day,
Even shadows hunched their shoulders in the dawn’s first frigid air
Carrying secrets of their moments they were never meant to share,
Like whispering silken messengers from day born amber hours
That reached back to far off golden days of Summer sun and flowers.

There were promises of turquoise tracing far across the bay
Trying oh so hard to form into a cloud and light bouquet,
Inter winding all those images of when we still were one
That could dance along the seascape just before the sun was gone,
Where the day breathed very slowly while the world turned once again
While it’s softly crying hours turned to laughter in the rain,
And you stood upon the seashore, fading quietly away
As behind you my words whisper wept, with nothing more to say.

Between each weary sceptred star were canvases of blue
That seemed to beg implicitly to paint a view of you,
The moonbeam woven waters of the sea upon the shore
Told not just our lost tale of love, but many many more,
As breathing even softer still, the day gave way to a night
Illuminating moments in a different kind of light,
The kind that wanders through a soul and settles in a heart
Surrendering a precious wish, to make a brand new start…
