Secret Seeing – 9 February 2010

Your ways are secret, O Lord of light,
Who can know them, hidden from sight?
I call to you from depths of sorrow,
My soul pierced by life's dark arrows.

Can there be hope in what I can't see?
Who am I that you notice me?
I must look for you with eyes of faith,
To find the gracious ways you make.

Now I see you in things so subtle,
To give me strength for life's long struggle.
Wondrous Lord, you love me still,
Who fails so much to do your will.

I cannot say why this is so,
But seek to love you all the more,
And find the way that you provide,
A place in you my soul can hide.
