Do not only survive, live!
I’ve messed up all my life
Still reeling from not feeling
Can’t bear to face my seething demons
Anesthesia for the bleeding
Cheating reason of its meaning
Flinging crack at callous beating
So like planting vegetation
On some ground that’s owned by Satan

It’s now
I feel compelled
To tell
You how
I came to be this way
Was afraid to turn away
I come from rocky stock
Always know I’m at the top
But that was higher than I got
Now I know smokers dying young
Cancer in the lungs
And cokers self hung
On weeds growing out of dung
Clinging onto believing songs
Strung on the ones still never sung
Because the dead ones don’t came back
Lacking in the asking never basking in the love

I’m living to survive
Damning back the tide
I’m clearing you the way
So hold on to my hand

I’ll battle on the front
You play just 2 steps behind
Don’t ever turn the cards
The chip’s to live not to survive
If it’s poker
Be the joker
The cliff’s not there to climb

I’ve tried to turn around
Ascend the cliff, that’s where I found
Won’t get any further
If you’re dodging heartless murder
A precursor to the top
Is knowing where to stop
If all you’re doing is defeating
You’ll end up in defeat
See yourself retreating
Needing freedom from the debts
If you don’t practice what I preach
The only place you’ll reach
Is where you started
So don’t stop for ruthless hating
Of the demons still in waiting
