what easter means to me

Pastel painted dresses
Flowers embellish tables
The suns first arrival
After a winters sleep
Easter eggs are concealed
under an elm tree
Baskets are packed with
white chocolate bunnies
some jellybeans and
Marshmallow peeps
colored Easter eggs
we painted last night
one year my uncle
gave me two rabbits
my mom wasn’t
thrilled about that
Flowers bloom with
fragrant streaming
through the breeze
spring is here
for another season
freezing winter went
a stray
but there are additional
scriptures of what
Easter is about
Jesus had lacerations
And was nailed and
crucified on
the cross
he carried up the hill
but he came back
to rescue us from
our sins
Jesus died so we
can be saved,
he's our savior
