A weird poem about the darkness deep within our souls regardless of our faith.

There
At the bottom of your soul
Such a cavernous hole
An eternally endless pit
The darkness down below
Is unforgiving and unrelenting
And if need be
Quite molesting
Do as you must
What you can
Try to always be right
While being so very wrong
Fight your best battle
Leave the dead piled up high
Let them know your name
Just before you end their plight
Stand for what you decide
Let nothing change what you alone
Are certain can be confirmed as right
Climb to a height where falling
Is nothing of an option
Stand upon any mountain
See beyond every possible horizon
Be committed like a hunter to his prey
Do what you alone are sure you must
Reach for those heavens
As you escape your hell
Question your illogical God
As to what you must do next
Then wait for a reply
While you are waiting
The darkness will be advancing
There
At the bottom of your soul
Is a cavernous hole
An eternally endless pit
Where all secrets are kept
And all that you cannot deny hides
Slowly they are becoming the same
One unified front against you
And your foolish attempts
At happiness through any kind of faith
The height to which you have climbed
Has left you suffering from hypoxia
To you all of this may sound mad
To you all of this may sound insane
But more than both of those
You know
That this is absolutely true
There
In such a place unclear
Is where the darkness flows
Forcing you as it has in the past
To do things that you have often felt
That you are incapable of repeating
You are far more capable
Then the climbing that you do
To escape your absolute truth
And what hides down there
In the bottom of your soul…
