A really weird poem about a difficult concept that I could not get out of my head.

There is this place
Heck
More of a state
A level
Unquantifiable
Immeasurable
To everyone
Most of all me
I go there often
These words
Every blank page
A one way ticket
There is no return address
There are only
Other destinations
Other detours
Turns to the left
Turns to the right
Roundabouts
Vast expansiveness
And just a little bit further
All the way there
I’m styling
Riding an envious ride
As others point
And ask why oh why?
There is no answer
At least not one that they
Are willing to accept
The people around
Standing way to close
To the edge of the sidewalk
Are clowns
No circus can they find
No reality do they dare believe
Some of them speed bumps
Bugs upon the windscreen
Feeling sorry for them
Changes nothing
Fate is in control
And unlike them
I have taken it by the wheel
I alone am in charge
I know the destination
I understand the journey
Cadillac Dreams
Fill my endless head
Always seeing many things
And understanding many more
A gift?
Damn near seems it
I put them all down
Upon every page
And when I’m done
When I’m sure it’s time
I step back into my ride
And leave everything behind
Down the road of life
Unto the highway of imagination
There are no marked signs
No indicated exit ramps
There is just pavement
Just a set of narrow lines
From the past to the future
From what I know
To what I’m about to
Cadillac dreams
Fuel to be spent
Powering all of this
Forcing me
From one destination
To the one that comes next
I will stop for no one
Those who stand before me
Had better find a way to move
Those who don’t believe
Had better step back
From the edge of the sidewalk
I can’t promise
Nor would I ever dare
That I won’t run them down…
