I don't know
When you find yourself
Being treated to dinner once again,
Going home and smoking bowl after bowl of soul medication,
For an incurable disease,
Escaping the thoughts of your disparity,
You realize that Nothing is changing.

With or without the positive thoughts, the end result is the same.
And now the player is up to bat and you have nothing to gain.
You can save everyone time and forfeit the game
Or you can fake it, hoping that the audience looks away
As the Divine intervenes and changes
Your belief in a ball, into a physical one.

But then again, the Lord must believe,
Ain't nothin' sweeter than the complete and utter
Emptiness
of Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Why else would this happen? This nothingness?
That greedy motherfucker sucks it from us,
Gives us a taste of happiness and rips it away,
Waiting for our reaction.
And feeds off it.
Telling us
"Experience is the greatest way to learn"
"You can't be successful without first failing"
"Things won't change until you do"
Empty promises for empty people.

If this is the pain that everyone references,
No one deserves this shit.
