The lack of love drives one man to the edge.
The city lights shine down on me
As I sit here tangled in jealousy.
It’s too cold to go it alone,
But loneliness is all I’ve known.

I stand here alone in this winter night,
She’s all I want in this thought of spite.
As the one she call hers loves her in a lack of light,
I sleep on this bench alone in a winter night.

The snow has never felt so warm before,
Living with a heart that is cold to the core.
You will never love me; I will never be with you,
So I hope you’re happy with the man you choose.

My love dies alone in this winter night,
Covered in the moonlight is where I fight.
A specter is born of jealousy and animosity,
Time is all I’ve got in this frozen city.

My face grows older with remorse,
Turn the hourglass and the sand will drain.
As I go down the road, set in course,
This man will look on in love upon the plane
Of soldier regrets and enemy delights,
At the foot of the mountain, battle engaged,
Thousands of years make history, no rewrites,
The hourglass keeps control of time deranged.

Are you paying attention?
All of what I have become,
Nothing left to contention,
To the anger that I’ve succumbed.
The snow shall blind me so,
Your love may be the last,
But for sure you will know,
Of the man of the hourglass.
