The title explains enough.
Obsession; unhealthy
Preoccupation; natural
Whether or not
I agree with consensus is no
Concern of yours. For who's to
Say what's proper?
(To quote Tim Burton)
What if it was agreed that
Wearing a codfish on your head was proper?
Boxes don't always fit on shelves.
Neither do dolls fit in boxes.
Perhaps instead
I'm wrong.
And everyone else is right?
How do I know?
All I know
Is what is given to me;
What I hear from myself.
Does not each agree with
Themselves? Everyone
Is convinced they're
The only one who's right.
That's how it is.
It's nice when
Someone knows that others are
Worth listening to.
I forget too often this.
For I am to stories
What you are to ideas;
They are my children.
I cry for their sorrows,
And watch with care their relationships.
I will do my duty by them.
I will give them a story that will give them life,
And they will shine,
And be remembered.
Read for me,
And keep my word, dear reader.
For you are to them
What life is to you.
