Creating a Monster: A How To.
First I gather the old and new
Familiar old lover
Strange new you

Then I put these side by side
Toss you in the bowl
Stir in the lies

Mix, mix, mix--can’t separate now
Mistakes I can’t fix
You are a compound

Bake for a while at 180 degrees
Pull out your pan
My faults burn me

What I have now are blisters I can’t heal
A person I can’t love
A person I can’t feel
