A peom to lost souls
I see you

Your pain

The way your eyes are sad and lonely

Everyone else see your eyes only as anger

You don’t talk in fear that somebody will hear you

If they hear you they see you

Right?

See the way you are

The monster you’ve become

The way you stay here in isolation because they told you

Useless

That’s what they said didn’t they

Useless

Told you that you were ugly

You may as well have fangs and claws

They told you over and over again

The words rung inside your head

A fire alarm

Never stopping

Soon their voices became you own

And you were swallowed by the words

Swallowed by the hurt

Useless

Ugly

A mistake

This is what you tell yourself

Because that’s what they wanted you to think

No longer do I see

The person who used to be

The person who smiled

You think no one can see you

But I see you

The broken child

Whose heart forgot how to love the only thing important

Itself

I see you

I see your tears

A river as wide as the Nile

But you forgot

It was only a dribble when it began

Civilizations feeding on your tears

That’s what they wanted

Their words were directed to flood your shores

The tormenters stand on your beaches looking onto you with pride

They had gotten what they wanted

You think that if you can get one person to love you…

One person from the shore

Just one…
But no you don’t need my love

You don’t need their love

You need your own

That’s what they did to you

My lost wandering child

They made you hate yourself

And I see you

Your torment

Flowing northward

Used by so many

Don’t give up

Not on yourself

Their words

Their revolting words

Pounding on your shores

Carry them in your current

Let them empty into the Mediterranean

Let their words sail away in the ocean

Lost at sea forever

And don’t look back

Not ever

Look forward

at you ever changing future

I see you

Its time you see yourself for the beautiful thing that you really are
