An homage to insomnia, and the demons that drive it
The Sleepless Threnody

Sadness rules in the silver pools of
eyes that cannot sleep.
When the day is done and all but one
slips into the deep;
When all is still except for the will of the one
who is most tired.
How many nights of candle lights, first bright,
but then expired?

When heavy hearts make many starts to
slip into the dark,
But demonic dreams will rip the seams and
always leave their mark.
There is a face without a place, but it turned out
to be true,
That all this sorrow can end tomorrow
if you let me cling to you.

Smell the rain, and know the pain of a
thousand nights ahead.
As once more, just like before, I face each
night with dread.
My eyes won't close, so I suppose that  this is
the day that I died,
Before I go, I thought you should know
I always loved you the most.

Now I'll descend, or now I'll fly, but I will leave for you
my ghost.
