"Where do I go from here? Is it my fault we've been missing each other?" ~Imagine Dragons.
Where do I go from here? I ask myself quietly. I look around, but it's so foggy, all I see is the smothered glow of the street lights. I don't know how I got here, all I remember was waking up on this road. Nothing looks familiar, but I don't feel alarmed. I feel as though... Everything will be okay soon. As I walk I see my breath come out in steam, and shiver. I didn't realize how cold it was. In the distance I hear a soft swoosh of water. It must be the ocean, I smile. I've always loved the ocean. As I approach the water, I step close to it, allowing the water to wash over my feet. They don't feel wet, though. I look in curiosity, my heart suddenly feeling heavy in my chest. Why am I here? I ask... Why am I so alone? I wrap my arms around myself, staring at the ocean. I take a breath, the wind blows through my hair... Or what I thought was the wind. I can't feel anything. I realize. "Stephanie." Then, I felt something. A hand on my shoulder. I slowly turn to see a familiar smiling face, and I gasp, tears filling my eyes. Nathaniel? Everything feels warmer now. The fog began to fade, everything seemed to be glowing, and I felt weightless. "I've come to take you home." Nathaniel said, holding out his hand. I suddenly remember why I'm here. I want to feel sad, but all I can feel right now is warmth, happiness, looking in his eyes, I know everything is okay now. I know everybody will miss me... I look back at the ocean, much more beautiful when the sun is shining. "You'll see them again." Nathaniel assured. "Lets be together now." his smile warmed me once again. I smile back, take his hand, and we walk, disappearing into the Eternal.
