It starts down deep with a flutter.

The crimson rises to your cheeks.

The urge to speak stopped by your stutter.

Try to hide it, hold it in, the dam begins to leak…

What to do when nothings said?

Try your best to clear your clouds.

Before you know it, you've lost your head.

Find yourself tangled in forbidden shrouds…

Slowly losing time too quickly as you drop;

Thoughts are fuzzy, your mind is muddled,

So you never hear the needle stop.

Rain drops go from misted to puddled…

What happened to your senses?

Hours twisted and tangled.

Don't lose your head, keep up those fences.

Too many years built to end up torn and mangled…

Never mind how good that felt.

Got to keep that heart of stone;

Don't lose yourself and let it melt.

Don't forget the consequence, like breaking bone…

How to remember when forgetting feels so good?

Keep your head, don't lose it, no matter how it seems.

Wrap your heart, your mind, in its protective hood.

Or before you know it, you'll be reaching for that old gleam…

Don't need another scar,

You have too many already,

But a start means an end's not far.

Take a deep breath, who knows if you're ready…
