A monologue
Sometimes it just feels too good to stop doing it, you know. It's just good to lean back in your chair, feel it's support behind you. You look around, beyond the walls, over an ocean of lights. There is an infinity of people, stretching all the way to the horizon in every direction. Every light you see moving around seemingly at random. But if you tilt your head just right, you can see how they cling together, combine to form beautiful shapes and patterns. There is truth in those patterns, somewhere. All this unveils itself before your eyes as long as you sit perfectly still. But as you begin to move, the vision gets blurred again. As if the mind's ability for perception is interrupted, confused. You take a deep breath and flex your shoulders, completely back in the here and now.
