A poem about Jesus as a child
FAVORITE TOY

I wonder if Jesus as a boy
Had a favorite game or toy
Did he run and jump in the dust
And come home his hair all mussed
Could he skip rocks on a stream
Or balance in the air on a beam
Did he play the game where you hide
Or perhaps take a wild donkey for a ride
Was he like other boys his age
Keeping little critters in a cage
Did he follow and learn from his dad
Or hug his mother when he was bad
God's word says he grew into a man
According to the record and plan
If our Savior he was to be
He needed to understand you and me
I'm sure when he was a lad
He never did anything really bad
But temptation he had to know
As into a man he began to grow
In order to deliver us from sin
He had to know the feeling within
And I am sure that as a boy
Jesus had a favorite toy!
