Telling lies can take it's toll.
I lie like I tell the time
and I need to know
when every minute passes.

The truth is
the early morning light-
quiet and and unseen.

I sleep badly
when the clocks change
as if my stories merge.

Only when time stops
will I stop
until then, I lie.
