A short story about a little girl that survives with the help of God.
Just  at the end of Long mountain, there is a small cabin. Inside that cabin, you will find a little girl, a bed, and a teddy bear.
That is all. Nothing else. Nobody really knows why the girl is alone, or why she keeps a teddy bear, clinging it to her side at all
times like a bible. But I do. It was April 17, 1982. A horrible, raging storm of fire rolled over the beautifully made mountains.
Her daddy was collecting firewood when the storm decided it was hungry and swallowed him like a tic-tac. Her mother
was in bed sick with the measles when the storm decided it was lunchtime. The cabin the girl now sleeps in used to
be her hand carved treehouse. It was the only thing that survived the storm. Even the tree that was supporting the
house got gobbled up by the hungry storm. The little girl has survived since, surviving with the strength of god,
eating off the gifts of the angels, and drinking the water of the holy ghost spirit. This girl survives from belief.
She writes her prayers on the ground in the sacred language of hebrew and reads any bible she finds lying around
the forest. This girl, with hair as black as ebony, skin as pale as snow, and lips as red as blood, has survived
because of the very essence, the very presence of god. That is all.
