A twisted little poem about forgotten dreams, about light and darkness, about connections.

Black night
Low light
Nothing seen
Naked is the eye
Upon my last wish
I must have missed
I forgot to ask God
Let the heavens above
Burn holes into this darkness
Let there be blinding light
Righteous and wide
Rendering the nothingness away
Allowing me to clearly see
Deeper into forever’s embrace
I have to know what’s beyond
I have to be absolutely sure
I can’t base it on faith alone
I just don’t have the strength
Life has taken it from me
Dismantling a once inherent ability
To blindly see as others often do
Weak has my heart become
Fragile is my troubled soul
Untrusting are my very bones
Reality is not as clear as before
What I imagine and what I see
Both spill over into the sea
Flooding both the bottom
And the top of my universe
Saturating the cosmic xenoscape
Causing additional blackness
Falling and rising
Breaking and settling night
Either at this time matters none
In my world of such absolutes
Counting stars
Alone in my dreams
I can see the connections made
The vast spaces in between
I can see every plan
Each pathway and destination
Miraculous are such predictions
God’s precious gift not to be wasted
Dreams like mine must become real
Because to me what is real is elusive
Salvation and redemption
Have become codependent
I cannot have one with the other
Black night
Low light
Nothing seen
Naked is the eye
Upon my last wish
I must have missed
I forgot to ask God
Let the heavens above
Burn holes into this darkness
Let there be things once unseen
Brought forward from the blackness
That up until now
I have been unable to escape…
