A poem about winter in the midwest.
Winter Solstice on the Prairie

'A final dance' Mother Nature whispers, her breath a cool fall breeze. Leaves dance a leisurely autumn waltz down, down, down.
The geese, they fly away, towards the end of the soiree as the song turns to November.
Then Jack Frost joins the affair and puts a nip into the air as Mother Nature welcomes him back. He races across the open plains leaving motifs of beautiful crystal. The prairie creatures say farewell, its winters snow they start to smell and then the first flake falls.
