Love has many sides...
True Love

I saw you in the park, running

golden hair bouncing in your ponytail,

and I knew that I Loved you.

I bought you flowers the next day, beautiful

bright colors, complimenting

your smile. Couldn't give them,

left them on your porch. Saw

your smile when you found them.

We jog in the morning, passing

waving to people we pass. Your smile

brightening lives, leaving happiness

in our wake.

We go to dinner with friends, laughing

talking, joking. The laughing doesn't bother

other diners, in fact makes them smile.

I sit at the edge of the bed and watch,

listen to you sleep, basking in the beauty

of you. Your light snoring brings tears

to my eyes and I quietly leave the room

so I don't wake you.

In the morning, you come downstairs

and find I have made us breakfast. Confusion

and fear spark in your eyes. Your words of Who are you

Why are you here, torture me, hurt me.

Was it all a game to you? My love is a joke

something for you to play with? Anger

pain, you aren't who I thought you were.

As you struggle, I close my hands around

your neck, stopping your damning

hurtful cries. Soon you will be

as I pictured. Perfect. I smooth your

hair as I lay you back in bed, pulling

tucking the covers around you. As

I leave, sadness threatens to overwhelm

overtake me. Will I never find my Love?

I saw you in the bar, talking

laughing, black hair shining

in the lights, and I knew

that I Loved you.
