Based on the Portland Roy Dog. For the 100 word story contest. (:
Lightning flashes and 100 eyes fill the darkness. The man tries to scream but no sound escapes. He knows he is trapped. Doomed. The creature looms ahead of him, its mane a jumbled mess of eyes. All focused on him. Thunder reverberates through the dank cave. The man says a silent prayer. The Roy Dog's body ripples with anticipation. It lunges forward and devours its prey. Once again the lightning strikes. 102 eyes shine with satisfaction.
