heartbreak
You kept a lot of secrets,
And I have kept none.
You say I was your moon and star in your darkest nights,
The only one in your heart.

Your emerald eyes shone dazzlingly
When you smiled, when I kissed you,
When I said “I love you.”
And now your eyes are as cold, merciless, unforgiving
As the knifing Northern Wind.
But why? I was not the one at fault,
You betrayed me, and everything I thought of you.

Remember that letter I first wrote to you,
That first letter, that key to my heart?
You still have it, you still have that key…
But you will never have me again.
