We cannot drone out the noise. It is the sound of life. It is the sound of being.
Listen to the Stars and Feel the Stardust

The young girl covered her ears,
Light leaked from her eyes
She looks up to see a woman.
Surrounded by the heavens!

She smiled at her,
One arm over her eyes.
A single finger over her mouth.
The young girl closed her eyes,

She tried:
To listen!
To feel!

She heard everything,
The sound drowned out her mind,
The very earth screeching out,

-But-
-She felt nothing-

She heard many things but felt few:
The sound of engines' roaring,
The sound of tires screeching,
The sound of heels hitting concrete,

She heard some things and felt some:
The sounds of people laughing and giggling,
The sounds of dogs barking and howling,
The sounds of cats hissing and purring,

She heard few but she felt many:
The sound of the tree branches a-rattling,
The sound of bushes a-rustling,
The sound of leaves a-flying,

She heard nothing.
The veil of the heavens,
The emptiness of eternity's words,

-But-
-She felt everything-

She opened her eyes and smiled.
Her eyes filled with the sounds she had heard,
Alone the girl, now grown, remembered.

"What did you hear?"
The silky voice of the older one,
"What did you feel?"

Her eyes made of stars,
She breathed stardust,

"Life"
"Being"
