Healing from deep sorrow
My mind just does not comprehend
it can not, it will not face the pain.
How does a life suddenly end?
God, how long will this sorrow reign?

Dropping to my knees, prayers I plead;
Oh Lord, cover me with your strength
this
intrinsic ache must be freed
wash it away at any length.

Anger boils from within my soul,
head thrown back, wet eyes clinched I wail.
Everything is out of control,
adrift in my personal hell.

Denial turns to acceptance
but the pain in my heart's still there.
A deep never-ending presence,
a fierce battle to keep from despair.

From the internal fight, I rise
brushing the soil from my
shoulders.
Flickers of light shine from my eyes,
a renewed
perspective smolders.
