The Heart That Breaks

The heart that breaks is a tragic occurrence
It shifts, it moves, it cracks around what once was
Opening to take in all the flames and embers
Encircling the organ where feelings breathe
The break is always there, only slightly repaired
To remind one that a heart can break
It can split in two, and even three parts
Sometimes more, but never untouched
It changes its shape, never the same again
Only leaving a small trace of what it used to be
Forges new paths that cover the aches
The connected line between the head to the heart
It can break too, it can cause disarray
The mind seems to have a heart of its own
The fuel each other, completely
The heart and soul of a mind does break
Nervously, coldly, leaving no corner spared
Saved of the wrecking ball that crushes
Feels like the skull is caving in and downward
Towards a heart, the heart that breaks
