A poem about doing what must be done in order to find meaning when in truth there is none.

Lying
I’m trying
The truth
No reason
Seasoned
La professional
In a world of novice
Only deceiving
Is what I say
What I tell myself
It allows me sleep
It allows me peace
Otherwise
There would be
None
I can’t face
Who I am
What I’ve done
And become
I must make this up
Thus
Fabrication
Repudiation
Hand over fists
Grandest is the scale
Escapism
Via proliferation
Lies upon lies
If by the pound
The weight
Unbearably unrelatable
If by the word
Wisdom
So damn absurd
All broken clocks
Are right twice
All broken people
Wander in circles
Spreading disease
Contagious minutia
Forcing non-believers
To ponder “what if?”
Even if the obvious
Is square one
God above
Gave us freewill
The devil below
Gave us no will
In between we live
So inclined
Those so bound
Those unlike
The liar that is me
Have little idea
Only deceiving
In need of no
Truth nor reason
I do what I must
What is required
I have limited regrets
But that which I do
Are increasing parts of my
Dilapidated heart and soul
Upon the page
I’ll always find residence
While in this world
I’m sure
That I have no home…
