Flash Fiction

I was playing in the back yard with two of my friends on a hot summer day. The air was humid and the sun was beating down on our pale faces. Then we saw a big white truck ride by and a little while later the kids down the street were screaming. I ran in to the house to get my parents, “Come on! Come on! What are we waiting for?” I said while running back out of the house. I was running as fast as I could, my friends were right behind me, and my parent right behind them. When we got to the top of the hill I could see the white truck and the kids right there talking to the man. I began to run faster. “Come on dad! We have to hurry!” I yelled. We finally reached the truck. Catching my breath, I looked at the man and said, “Three ice cream cones please!”
