A poem on breathing
Hey!

Hey you! Yeah you! Browsing away on your PC there

Well don't just sit there with your catatonic stare

Will you just freeze, mouth agape, as your lower mandible fills with drool?

Don't be surprized by my singling you out, writers often toy with the rules

A wake up call just so that you are reminded,

that everything else you did today was blinded,

by a simple fact that you forgot, you do this a lot,

never giving it moments thought.

So even if your efforts came to naught,

Breathe.

No don't sniff in with those bunged up nostrils,

Nose hairs cluttering airways like tendrils

Open your mouth, expand your diaphragm, fill your lungs, and breathe.

Hmm, yes, particles of oxygen infuse with haemoglobin,

letting a welcome fresh blast of cold in.

Savour that moment, that emotion isn't it golden?

Think that was neat?

On the count of three, repeat.

Continue as you were, taking a deep breath as required.

Keep going until the day is done, last lungful expired.
