Just as Peter thinks it can't get any worse, he is reminded that life is cruel and unfair.
Warning: Swearing and vore contained ahead.

---

Two young men stood in the shadow of the trees bordering the food stands. One was blond and fair skinned, his slim and muscled frame dressed in a long striped tank top, and baggy cargo shorts. His friend next to him had dark hair and a light tan, dressed in a simple red t-shirt, and dark jeans.

“What’s taking him so long?” wondered the dark haired one, as he turned to look back at the gates. Both towered high above the crowd flowing past them into the fair, giving them an easy view of their surroundings. The blond one shrugged without a response, scanning the tents spread before him, his eyes squinted using his hand as a shield from the bright sun.

“Ben!” shouted the dark haired one, waving his arm in the air, showing off rippling muscle. A third young man jogged over to them, dressed in a long blue t-shirt and baggy basketball shorts. He scratched at his tousled brown hair. “Dude, Derek, she gave me her number!” he said with a grin. To further prove his point he held out a scrap of paper proudly.

Derek snatched it out of his hand, and read the number as if to confirm his friend’s statement. “Check it out Rhett…” he said to the blond one, showing him the scrap of paper. Rhett grunted, “That looks really familiar…” he said slowly. Ben snatched the paper back, “Bullshit, you guys are just jealous!” “Eight, six, seven, five, three, oh, nine…” Rhett breathed, ignoring Ben. He was silent for another second, “Dude! It’s a fucking song!” Rhett shouted, laughing hysterically.

Ben’s face spilt into surprise and then disappointment, “Dammit! That’s not even fair!” he muttered, crumping up the paper and tossing it behind him.

“You guys hear from Peter?” Derek asked, grinning at his friend’s disappointment. Both shook their heads. A loud growl cut through the momentary silence.

“Fuck ‘em!” Rhett said, a hand against his flat stomach, “Ben needs to drown his sorrows and I need to feed the beast!” Ignoring a good-natured “Fuck off” from Ben, Rhett marched forward. Derek checked his phone for a response from Peter before following his friends into the food court.

---

Peter groaned, forcing himself to sit up in spite of the pain that permeated through every part of his body. The events from the past hour kept playing in his head. It hadn’t even been a full hour yet! He had been a normal guy, going to see a magic show at the fair. Now he had been attacked, abused, and abandoned at an impossibly small size. How could any of this be real? What had he done to deserve this? How was this even remotely fair?

Peter tried to stem his rising panic. Right now he needed to focus on surviving and getting help. He could deal with the trauma through years of counseling later. With a deep sigh, Peter looked skywards to begin to scan his surroundings.

The ground he stood on was uneven and brown. It sunk downwards in every direction. However a few brown peaks reached higher, randomly placed in the distance.

“Potatoes” Peter mouthed in shock. The vegetables appeared to be rolling hills at this size! A sheer white cliff stretched up to unimaginable heights, it’s surface pitted and smudged. This mythical mountain was simply a food tent.

Peter wandered across the rough surface of the potato, trying to think of his next course of action. He stumbled as the ground sunk unexpectedly into a wide valley. Catching himself Peter realized with dread it was simply an eye on the potato’s surface. What could he possibly do when he was so terribly small??

A deafening crinkling echoed around him, as the towering tent became distorted. He caught a glimpse of a rough brown hand grasping the edge of the tent flap. It didn’t prepare him in the slightest for the next sight.

The tent flap was drawn back abruptly. It revealed an immense, gruff looking Mexican man. An off white apron splattered with grease draped over his broad chest. He used a thick forearm to wipe the glistening sweat from his forehead. Peter stood dumbfounded by the ease at which the vast man moved. It simply didn’t seem possible!

His eyes dropped to the potatoes, scanning them disinterestedly. Peter jumped up and down, waving his arms frantically while screaming like a maniac. The giants eyes skipped right over him, unable to discern Peter’s minuscule form. Peter however wasn’t deterred. He started screaming actual words, hoping against hope he would be noticed.

“HEEEEEEEYY!! DOWN HERE!!! PLEEEEASE!!! HELP MEEEEE!!!!!” he begged. The man’s eyes snapped onto Peter. “YEEEEESSSSS!” he cheered, amazed that he had finally been noticed. The titan frowned, as he continued to stare down at Peter. He rubbed his thick stubble with his wrist, as though thinking about something. Peter stopped shouting, worried by the lack of reaction from the hulking man.

Without warning, the man’s reached down with his right hand spread out. Peter screamed and cowered as the wide, flat palm blocked his view of everything above. Peter could study every wrinkle in the calloused skin as it descended over him, leaving him in an ominous semi-darkness. The thick fingers curled around the potato, the fingertips disappearing where the “land” curved downwards. Peter screamed again as he felt the ground shake and lift upwards, causing him to collapse roughly. Everything began to tilt, sending him rolling uncontrollably.

Desperate not to fall into oblivion Peter scrambled for a hand hold, shouting as he tumbled freely. He grunted as he came to an abrupt stop after hooking his hand into the potato’s rough surface. He laughed weakly, amazed he had managed to secure himself.

This didn’t last long as the giant continued to turn everything so that Peter was hanging from the potato that was now above him. It slid downwards in the man’s loose grip, striking the palm lightly. The impact was strong enough to shake Peter loose and he hit the thick skin with a grunt of surprise. Above, he could hear the sounds of potatoes being piled on as the giant selected more.

The palm radiated heat, a thin layer of sweat coated its surface. Peter could see tiny bits of dust, and debris from the potatoes trapped in every ridge of the rough skin. He imagined at a normal size the hands would appear clean, but not at this size! Quakes shuddered through the ground and everything around him, as the light streaming through the fingers danced wildly. Peter realized the behemoth must have been walking.

Remembering what had happened last time he hadn’t escaped from a palm properly, Peter attempted to flee. However he struggled against the layer of sweat which both held him in place and prevented his feet from getting any purchase on the skin.

He shouted in terror as the ground beneath tilted yet again, becoming a near vertical cliff. The potatoes fell away, distant thuds signaling their rough landing. Bright light flooded the space, momentarily blinding Peter. He flailed in panic as he remained stuck to the palm, staring down at the ground many miles below.

He could see the man’s ragged , faded jeans where they stretched down to pair of filthy sneakers. He stood on one of those black restaurant mats with holes that had been thrown over the uneven grass. The grass had been stomped flat, presumably by his careless steps. Peter couldn’t help but stare as the man’s right sneaker lifted over an errant fry. Landing with a quaking thud, it disappeared from view. As the man turned and lifted his foot, the fry wasn’t on the ground anymore. It fell from the shoe sole mid-step, flattened and dirty. Peter shuddered, that fry was bigger than an airplane to him, and the giant had obliterated it in his ignorance and carelessness.

Peter felt his heart thumping and his breathing became short and ragged. He wasn’t going to make it out of this! Why had the magician’s assistant spared him? Was it to put him through this torture? Or was it to tell himself he wasn’t guilty of murder? That wasn’t a fair conclusion; he absolutely would be responsible for Peter’s ultimate fate. Peter screamed wordlessly in rage and desperation. The situation he found himself in was both ridiculous and dire. And he could do nothing about it.

Peter was jolted out of his thoughts by the hand’s movement. It felt as if he was on one of the fair’s rides as he swung upward in an arc with the giant’s hand. He only caught a glimpse of the giant’s other hand before the palm slammed into him. His whole body throbbed from the impact. He felt himself screaming as he fell, but couldn’t hear anything through the ringing in his ears. The man had simply been wiping his hands together, but for Peter a bomb may as well have gone off.

Merely a second into free-fall, Peter braced for impact. “This is it! I can’t survive a fall from this height!” he thought miserably. Life did not flash before his eyes. Instead a single, short sentence replayed again and again.

“This is unfair!”

His body landed with a splat.

As Rhett approached the food tents he was assaulted by a jumble of smells. He closed his eyes, smiling as he inhaled deeply. His stomach growled again, as if to demand Rhett not waste any time in tracking down something to eat.

Looking back to make sure Derek and Ben were following close behind, Rhett continued to weave through the crowd. Bits of conversation mixed with the sizzles and slices of the various food stands and in the distance joyful screams and mechanical whirs of aged fair rides provided a lively backdrop of noise. One-by-one Rhett dismissed each of the stands, though he did make a mental note to return for a funnel cake later.

Rhett finally halted in front of a faded white tent advertising curly fries in obnoxious, colored letters. Taking a place in line, he turned around, shooting Derek and Ben an impatient look for their inability to keep up. As they finally neared, Rhett nodded his head towards the tent asking “You guys wanna split on the grand size?”

“You can pay, I don’t mind,” Ben said with a grin. “Oh yeah, I always pay for my ladies,” Rhett replied with a roll of his eyes, sticking his hand out for his friends to provide their share of the cost. Ben wordlessly reached for his wallet, while Derek scanned the tents once more. “I guess nothing else sounds better!” he sighed, handing his cash to Rhett.

“We’ll go grab a table!” Ben volunteered. Leaving Rhett at the tent, Derek shot off a text to Peter as he followed Ben.

---

Peter felt like he was swimming in jello. His body still stung from the impact, but he seemed to be in one piece. Opening his eyes had left him in darkness and only gotten his eyes to burn. Squeezing them shut, Peter instinctively struggled what felt to be upwards. However, his efforts far outmatched his supply of energy. He felt like he was barely moving, and already his lungs burned for air. Peter had always enjoyed swimming, but clearly that wasn’t making a difference now!

His movement became manic, before he found his limbs growing heavier. Peter realized though he had survived the fall, it seemed he wouldn’t make it out of this.

Just before thankfully giving up, Peter felt his hand move freely above his hand. The surface. With renewed determination, Peter propelled himself upwards, literally climbing through the thick substance. He broke the surface, gasping for air. Around him the thick liquid threatened to pull him back under. He flailed against its strong pull.

“No!” he wheezed, “No!” he wouldn’t go back under the… he didn’t even know what he was fighting against! Finally he had enough of his body free that rather than pulling him back under, the thick substance allowed him to remain topside.

Peter took a moment to recover, wondering if his heartbeat or breathing would ever return to normal. Completely coated in the entrapping liquid, Peter found he could barely clear his face with his equally drenched arms. As he stubbornly tried, some of it ended up in his mouth. He instantly recognized the flavor.

Rubbing his eyes clear only confirmed what he already knew. Rather than being splattered on the ground as expected, Peter had landed in… nacho cheese! A lake of yellow stretched away to looming steely walls. The walls of a can of cheese.

“Oh God! How will I escape!” Peter panted fearfully. Then, an even worse thought hit him “I could end up in someone’s-“

He was cutoff as the lake of yellow was bathed in shadow. Looming above was the Mexican man from before. His face was devoid of emotion as he stared down into the can of cheese. Worst of all, in his hand he brandished a ladle.

“NOO!!” Peter screamed, as the long metallic utensil swung downwards. He attempted to swim away, but found even on the surface his efforts had a minimal impact. He heard a splat behind him, and a glance backwards revealed the ladle had sunken below the surface and was scooping towards him. Peter refused to give up, even as he felt himself rise with the surrounding cheese from the much larger lake.

The ascent was over in a split second. Peter looked upwards pleadingly, “HELP ME!!!!” he begged as the ladle tilted and Peter screamed as he plummeted from the ladle in the thick waterfall of bright cheese.

---

Rhett hungrily watched the man dump the cheese onto the fries. He unconsciously licked his lips as the liquid dripped and streamed between fries. After adding a generous helping of cheese the man looked expectantly at Rhett. ‘’What else do you want on it?” he asked. Rhett pointed at a couple of various toppings that the man added to the heaping pile of fries. Neither he nor the cook noticed the moving speck in the cheese sauce. Various toppings many times larger than the speck nearly crushed it multiple times as they rained down from the cook’s hands.

Finally Rhett gratefully took the platter of food and walked away in search of his friends. His eyes swept a cluster of tables, while he reached down for a fry. Had he looked down he still would most likely not have noticed the small speck, even as his fingers brushed the fry it was on before grasping a nearby one. Rhett pulled it free and popped it into his mouth when he at last saw Ben waving to him from the far corner.

Reaching the table, Rhett paused to swallow before happily stating, “Guys these fries are bomb!”

“You gonna keep them to yourself fatty?” Derek asked sarcastically.

“Maybe” Rhett replied coyly as he dropped onto the aging bench. It let out a creak of protest as it settled under his weight.

Ben slowly reached over and snatched the platter from Rhett’s hands, “Too bad fat ass!” he laughed as he grasped a handful of fries before dropping the food onto the table. With a snorting laugh Derek and Rhett reached in to start chowing down.

---

Peter flailed in an attempt to reach safety as building sized jalapenos and bacon bits rained from above. In spite of his entrapment, he remained unharmed when the storm of food thankfully ended.

A pleading look upwards only shocked Peter to his core. Blocking the sun, and bathing him in shadow was a giant’s massive head. Only it just happened to be the smiling face of his friend Rhett!

He was not given the chance to process this before the entire landscape tilted and pitched violently, like a ship caught in a hurricane. A scream tore from Peter’s lips and a glance upwards revealed his friend’s broad chest and the underside of his jaw as he seemed to be holding the platter of food near his heart.

“Rhett!!” Peter screamed, thankful to be amongst friends. A shadow from behind him caught his attention. Straining to turn around, Peter shrieked at the sight of a massive hand that seemed to be reaching straight for him.

“I’m rescued!” Peter cheered. That is until the thick fingers brushed over the fry he found himself trapped on. He watched, in mystified silence as the hulking hand closed around a nearby towering fry. With a violent tug, the fry was ripped free and rose rapidly. Peter followed its progress as Rhett lifted it towards his face, and immediately shoved it between his lips.

Peter flinched as the sounds of chewing reached his ears. During that entire movement Rhett hadn’t looked down once! He hadn’t been on the verge of rescue, he’d nearly been wolfed down! Peter felt chilled to his core. His situation hadn’t improved. He wasn’t amongst friends. He was on their menu!

Peter renewed his frenzied movements, screaming from the effort. His adrenaline fueled escape proved as fruitless as those before it. The thick cheese holding him in place may as well have been drying cement.

He wails as the landscape jolts wildly. The world around him becomes a blur, and Peter is vaguely thankful for the security provided by his binds. The violent movement stops anti-climactically without a sight or sound to signal why. However Peter isn’t offered even an instant of reprieve. An enormous hand appears, bathing the fries below in an ominous shadow. It crashes down without reason, the thick fingers roughly closing around a clump of fries. With impossible ease they are torn from the landscape, leaving a gaping crater.

Peter, still reeling from another near miss, screams as his world yet again tilts haphazardly. The entire landscape vibrated painfully with a crash as all movement abruptly halted. Movement from above drew Peter’s gaze upwards. He was met with three hungry stares. One was Rhett’s from before, but Peter let out a choked sob upon seeing his other two friends Derek and Ben. They surrounded him, towering above like mountains.

Ben was already chewing, a strand of cheese swinging freely from his lips. Derek had a wide grin plastered across his face, as his massive hand appeared from the edge of the plate. They pulled away another hill of food as Rhett’s outstretched palm soared overhead. The thick fingers deftly closed around a stack of nearby fries and pulled upwards. Peter cried pathetically as he felt his own ground shift in unison with the mountain of food. Rhett ripped the fries free, leaving a relieved Peter behind.

Ben’s thick fingers pulled at a long fry in the distance at the edge of the plate. The fry didn’t come free at first so that Ben dragged the plate of food sideways, sending a quake through Peter’s world. Seconds later Derek’s hand dove down, his gaze seeming to rest right on Peter. “DEREK!!” Peter shrieked desperately. Instead Derek’s long fingers closed around a nearby peak of fries. Satisfied he had found his prize, Derek’s eyes flicked upwards to Rhett who was gesturing to the distance while chewing. The cheese stretched thin as Derek lifted the fries upward to his lips. He didn’t glance at the food before casually stuffing it into his wide open mouth. Peter flinched at the resounding crunch that followed.

As his titanic friends continued to chow down Peter alternated between wild attempts to flee and desperate pleas for help. Around him his friends’ massive hands dove down randomly, lifting away pile after pile of food to be nonchalantly stuffed between their vicious jaws.

Though Peter had a clear view of each of his friends, he felt a world away. Above him they talked and laughed, totally oblivious to their minuscule friend trapped in their shared meal. Every time one of their eyes seemed to lock onto his tiny form Peter couldn’t help but feel a burst of hope. Each time it was shattered within a second as their gaze swept away callously. They didn’t see him! They weren’t looking closely enough. They only saw a delicious platter of fries and had no reason to imagine it had anything more on it. Sometimes they didn’t even look down, snatching up food blindly without looking at it even once before pushing it into their awaiting mouths.

Peter’s body ached from fruitless efforts to escape; his throat stung from screams begging for aid. So far he had been lucky enough not to be grabbed in a handful of food. Though part of him felt unlucky, as he was forced to endure this torture, the smallest shred of hope he could be discovered making his likely fate hurt even more. Slowly he found himself hoping more and more that his suffering would soon end.

He was bathed in shadow once again, as Ben’s hand blocked out the sun. In spite of the shadow Peter could see a faint glint of grease coating the rough palm, smears of cheese and other unnoticed bits of food trapped against the skin. His heart skipped a beat as the long fingers grasped a pile of fries, including his own.

“This is it!” he thought, feeling oddly calm as he was pulled upwards. To his surprise he sank downwards as Ben failed to pull the fries free. When Ben moved his fingers to get a better grip, he missed Peter’s fry altogether. As Ben wrenched his next bite away, Peter found himself quaking in rage. “JUST TAKE ME!!” he bellowed, “JUST END IT!!”

As if in response another godly hand reached down to him. This time he was square in the middle of the targeted food. Peter was swept up in the fries, and torn away to be devoured.

Heavy G-Forces sank him deeper into the sticky cheese. The movement slowed and the massive hand shifted giving Peter a clear view above. Eyelashes the length of trees framed a pair of dark blue irises. They were set beneath a thick jungle of dark hair that flowed downwards over the expanse of the forehead.

Derek looked more like a landscape to Peter than his buddy. Though his eyes were pointed towards the fries, Peter could tell he was focusing past them. He was invisible. “Hell, the food they’re eating may as well be invisible!” Peter thought sourly.

Everything shook as Peter felt his island of food approaching Derek’s supple lips. Every wrinkle in their surface looked like a fissure in the ground. The stubble surrounding them, neatly trimmed and unnoticeable at normal size, looked like a newly planted forest.

A deafening clap of thunder burst from the lips as they stretched thin. A laugh, Peter realized a second later. The mouth revealed a perfectly straight wall of white teeth, a few specks of food of various colors caught in the crevices between the towers of ivory.

Without warning the mouth widened, becoming a cavern large enough to fit towers. The tongue glinted in the light, thick strands of saliva stretching from its undulating surface to the jagged molars above. Peter was amazed at the hostile landscape that was merely the interior of Derek’s mouth. It was one he had seen before, but never like this.

As he approached the humid cavern, Peter’s self-preservation kicked in. He didn’t want to be eaten, he wanted to be saved!

“DEREK!! NO, PLEASE DON’T EAT ME!!!” he wailed. As if the universe had been waiting for Peter to proclaim his desire to live, the ground beneath him seemed to disappear, sending Peter into a free-fall.

He screamed all the way down, grunting as a rough landing turned into a series of rolls. He breathed heavily, staring at the underside of Derek’s jaw as it rose and fell to the sound of barely audible crunches.

“I could’ve been there” Peter breathes in shock, thoroughly relieved at his surprising escape. “I need to get out of here” he thought. However when he tried to sit up, Peter found himself glued to the ground. He struggled again before realizing he hadn’t been in free fall. He hadn’t escaped. The fry he was trapped on had plummeted back to the plate, taking him with it! Though he had escaped doom between Derek’s jaws, he was still in as much danger as before!

His fears were confirmed as a hand hovered over him like an alien spaceship. For the second time in mere minutes he found himself scooped into a massive hand and being lifted skywards. Rhett’s face, bathed in sunlight comes into view. He is staring off into the distance, never once resting his gaze on his food.

It was happening too fast. He had just been a regular fair-goer merely an hour or so ago. Yet it felt like a distant dream of a previous lifetime. As if his world had always been this terrifyingly huge one. As if he had never been a person, who had been equals with these behemoths. Who had been their friend! “Rhett is going to eat me!” Peter thought, “I’m his friend!”

But the reality was he was just a speck on Rhett’s meal, as meaningless as any other piece of food he had thoughtlessly gulped down. As far as Peter’s friends were able to understand, there was nothing out of the ordinary about this plate of fries. Soon Rhett would gulp him down, none the wiser, and the world would go on without Peter, not a soul knowing of his demise in Rhett’s gut.

The fries approached Rhett’s lips. They were thinner than Derek’s, and Peter could see incredible thin strands of cheese hanging from them unnoticed. As Rhett opened his mouth, his tongue simultaneously slid out like a mythic monster. Spread across its gleaming surface were soggy chewed piles of fries, amongst the random bits of topping and smears of cheese. Larger piles of chewed food sat near the molars, as a grim reminder of what the food would soon be. Framing the scene were razor sharp towers of ivory, as perfectly straight as Derek’s. Peter noticed a dark filling on one of the back molars. Thick ropes of saliva connecting jagged teeth to the tongue glinted in the light. A long uvula swayed between his bright pink tonsils, a stark contrast to the darkness beyond them: His ultimate destination from which he would never return.

This was simply a part of Rhett. His friend would never be able to appreciate how monstrous his huge mouth was. He would never be able to see it as the horrific world Peter was about to enter. Rhett was just eating some fries at the fair.

“I DON’T DESERVE THIS!! IT ISN’T FAIR!!!” Peter bellowed as Rhett easily pushed the handful of fries into his maw. He used his long fingers to hold it in place until his teeth came together and his lips sealed the mouth in darkness.

---

Rhett, Derek, and Ben had already made a sizable dent in the platter of fries. They greedily took oversized bites, though any passerby would have dismissed it as a typical college guy appetite.

As Ben closed his hand around a clump of fries, he failed to notice the struggling speck trapped on one. Unable to pull the fries free, he absently moved his hands to get a better grip. Ben lifted the handful of fries to his mouth, unknowingly sparing the speck from his digestive tract.

Derek reached down, where Ben’s hand had just been. He easily wrenched the fries upwards, pausing to ask Rhett which ride he wanted to do first, unaware of the oddly colored speck adhered to his food. As Rhett responded, Derek shoved the fries into his mouth. He didn’t notice the one fry shaken free that plunged back onto the plate, a small speck still stuck to its surface.

Rhett reached down blindly, closing his hand around a small pile of fries. Lifting it upwards, he remained oblivious of the struggling speck in his food. He looked to his left where the tops of the rides created an uneven skyline against a backdrop of a picturesque blue sky. He took a moment to appreciate the beauty of the scene as he lifted the fries to his lips. Without hesitating Rhett easily stuffed the entire handful into his mouth, using his tongue to catch all the loosely hanging pieces.

He chewed absently, ignorant to the desperate drama unfolding inside his mouth. He laughs loudly at a joke Ben makes, exposing his chewed mouthful to the light. Soggy mountains of chewed food sway with the tongue, snapping cords of glinting saliva. Though Derek and Ben both saw the disgusting scene, they remained oblivious to the screaming speck caught in the destruction. Unable to comprehend its true horror, they simply disregarded the sight. Rhett calmed down, allowing his mouth to shut, and swallowed his food. As it sunk into his body Rhett all but forgot about it.

Along with Ben and Derek, Rhett continued to mindlessly devour the fries. They talked about the various rides, unaware of their friend Rhett had unceremoniously gulped down. Before long the boys had an empty platter and three comfortably full stomachs, though they gave no thought to the demolished food trapped within their guts.

They walked towards the rides unconsciously smacking their lips and picking at food still trapped in their mouths. The movement of their stride violently churned the food in their stomachs, but they remain blissfully unaware of the harsh environment of their respective digestive tracts.

Anyone who saw the handsome, young blonde walk by would never suspect that deep within his toned body, trapped in a storm of chewed food, was a screaming, minuscule person. Rhett himself had no indication of what was happening inside his stomach, or of his tiny friend who had been carelessly gulped down. He didn’t give an ounce of thought to the mountains of food merely awaiting the acids that would accompany the impending digestion. Even as his body would begin breaking down the food, Rhett would remain unconscious to the inner workings of his own body.

Only Peter would witness it.

The friends, deciding Peter wasn’t going to join them, bought their wristbands, and quickly entered the line for the bumper cars, looking forward to a good time.
