When I felt trapped....
She paces the cage-back and forth,
All everyday-no remorse,
Her beautiful fur, now dull and limp,
Stared at by faces and she knows what they think;
"Go on roar", "Show us your teeth",
Her tiredness and anger and no release,
She dreams of a land where she can be free,
Stand on her own, socialise when she needs.
No invisible walls with strangers looking in,
Her privacy protected and her tears kept within.
But theres barriers and cages every which way, the same things being done day after day,
And shes in doubt, is it real or not?
Its been so long shes either mad or forgot.
No respect for the Queen that she can be, her companion content but she wants to be free.
His caged with her but doesnt understand, she craves her freedom, he craves the crowd.
So she paces again, somehow alone,
Forced to call this makeshift a home,
There for convieniance,
But not really liked,
This poor lost soul, trapped with no life.
Sold a dream of hope and friends,
Nowhere to run if it comes to an end,
Scratch at the walls and stare at the sky,
Wishing to change it and wondering why,
They think she is docile, no mind of her own,
Just a angry animal with a given home.
Her instinct swallowed, a need to fight,
Crushed to nothing when shes forced to bite.
Pace corner to corner, a hole to find,
A place to hide if they change thier minds.
Sit by the mouth of the no-flowing stream,
No escape, although she dares to dream,
Cold faces and colder hearts, digs in her claws before she falls apart.
Like a Tiger that stalks before she leaps,
Plan, patience-dont miss a beat.
Like a Tiger? I hear you ask,
A story I tell with a twist so dark,
This pacing beast, no room to breath-
This Tiger I speak of- is a women called me.
