Procrastination, Dickens style!
A Tale of Two

The best of things, the worst of things
Condensed, collapsed to one
All the things I should have said
The things I should’ve done
The reasons why I ventured in
The reasons why I don’t
This schizophrenic package
What I will and what I won’t
The joy of such fragility
The hazards that it holds
Held captive with humility
Striking at the goal
Striving for a lucky toss
In short, ascend or fall?
A flip to measure win or loss
Heads or tails? Make the call!
A slave unto a coin face, fire
Vulnerable, we bleed
On the tails of desires
In the gaze of what we need
Lose sight of what we wanted
Drifting slowly of the scene
Dejected, down, despondent
Upbeat, buoyant, and sanguine
Things that make and break us
What’s whole, what’s made undone
The best of things, the worst of things
Collapsed, rolled into one
