A short poem
She waits
As a silent rage builds inside
The things she feels
She no longer wants to hide
So calm on the outside
Yet she boils on the inside
The smile on her face a mask
Hiding the truth behind her past
And so she waits
She waits inside so patiently
Like a storm brewing silently
Behind my jaded eyes
Watching me struggle
With all of the lies
She watches and waits
Ready to break free
Someday, I'll let her out
And everyone will see...
That I can too be mean.
