When you walk past a mirror do you like what you see?
I was walking with friends when I passed a mirror
The reflection in it couldn't have been clearer
I saw a young girl but I didn't know her
Who was that girl? I couldn't be sure
But what I did know, was it wasn't me
And within the strangers eyes I could truly see
I was trapped behind the strange girls eyes
Trapped in a way where no one could hear my cries
I was scared of this stranger I saw in my reflection
She was brave and strong; had many friends, I'd say a collection
When the true me was alone
There was one thing that this mirror had shown
I had changed drastically to fit in
Did whatever I could and committed sins
All to seek approval from those who would one day work below me
That is what the mirror made me see
But the mirror did not make me want to change the girl I saw
Even though I knew that everything the girl did was wrong
I wanted to have countless friends
And I'd do whatever it took; I'd sin again..
