A love poem, because I'm a dreadful romantic.
I remember
When I saw you
That moment when my life changed
Forevermore
When time stood at a standstill
And my heart stood still

I blinked and blinked again
Sure my eyes were deceiving me
For love at first sight doesn't happen in this reality
Or does it

I remember
When I saw you
This joy in my heart
Filling all the cracks and crevices
My mouth was dry
Sandpaper, desert-dry
And palms sweaty

I walked over
You looked up
And then our eyes connected
I felt myself starting to come undone
All my twisted strings unraveling
Lost in those shadowy depths
Those eyes held me in place

And then it was you who was walking towards me
You took my face in your hands
Held it like a delicate concoction
Of spun glass and crystal
You kissed me
Gentle as a breeze

Pulling away,
You gazed into my eyes
And I into yours
This moment of crystal clear clarity
hit me
That you were the one
The one I'd been longing for;
My other half
Having this half filled felt so right
Nothing could puncture this happy balloon inside of me

I felt so happy
Like the wind could carry me away at any moment to a far-off land
My whole body filled with delight
All because of you
Isn't love at first sight a wonderful thing?
