Short Poem

Mother

By

Cheryl Martin

Being a mother is more than a title

There's nothing more I rather be

As I look at you eye to eye

I'm glad to have you by my side

Being the mother that I am today

I don't have to look back because I'm glad to see

There's more to you that meets the eye

You're not the baby I once held in my arms

From being small being held in one hand

To becoming the adult that you are today

I thank God when you call me mom

There's nothing more I rather be

You make me smile as you look at me

You even wiped my eyes when I cried

As I watched you grow up everyday

I thank God when you call me mom
