A dear friend who lost his life and his children's lives to his addiction.
Dilated eyes
dropped lips
Cigarette hangs
from his finger tips

Eyes rolling
thoughts slow
Hand drops
cigarette let go

Smoke rises
from a burning chair
Flames alight
He’s not aware

Kids in bed
sound asleep
Slowly dying
from the smoke that creeps

A home in flames
from a goofing man
His falling cigarette
and where it lands

Life’s lost
from a deadly kiss
The goofing man
and his heroin fix
