A witnessed airport reunion

The Homecoming

Her eyes shine with the light of noon.
Her smile a brilliant silver moon.
Nervous laughter ringing out.
Tiny crystal tears slowly sprout.

Arms opening, held out wide.
Running, running to final slide.
Across airport's polished floor.
Such joy hearts cannot store!

He's back! Safe and sound!
Soldier and wife, hearts pound.
Their world does away fade.
Along with sacrifices made.

Little one tugs pants and skirts,
Swiftly pressed between loving shirts.
People pause and stop, touched by such a scene.
Gathered crowd claps, sharing in true love's beam.
