A poem about an interesting fairy creature from Irish folklore.
O' lass O' lass,
with hair so gold,
listen now as tale is told,
don't give ye heart away to keep,
to gachoner man, while tending sheep,
ne'er listen you to words so dear,
tis spoken in a lonely ear,
for when the dawn does come with day,
gachoner man be gone to stay,
and with him go ye heart so fair,
o' lass o' lass
of sun gold hair,
and ne're will ye be free,
ye heart twas broken eaisly,
to pine to pine to pine away,
and ne're again to see the day...

Gachoner was a fairy creature from Irish folklore. Known as the love taker, it would find and seduce young, pretty girls such as shepherdesses that were all alone. It would then leave them to pine away and die of a broken heart, waiting for him to return though he never would.
