Something ever deals with in our past and present life.
They tell a story
Some are visible
Others are masqueraded
Everyone has them

Every lie created one
Every broken heart engraved one
Every cut draws them closer
Every silent night engulfs me

Desolate nights
Darkness ensues
Manic thoughts
The blade tempting

Rip them open
Cut them out
See them bleeding
No more doubt

Stitch me shut
Seal the wounds
Dry the blood
Cling to some hope

I never wanted one
But never would I live without
Scars are what we need
They are what tell our story
