Saying hello to my old friends, words.
This spinning, a familiar thing. . .

I haven’t felt this for years!

Words like mosquitos buzzing around,

Just beyond my ears.

And straining to catch them is futile as such

You can't chase what simply appears.

How strange that they’d come back unannounced!

Without invite to just appear.

As if I could ever predict their path!

They have always done just what they please.

Coming and going and settling down,

Then all of a sudden to leave.

Again unannounced, no invite or retort,

They just lift off and buzz off like bees!

Thoughts and ideas that come like attacks,

I didn’t realize that I’d ever miss these!

Yet here I am dreamily romanticizing,

Waiting to be taken to my knees

By some clever statement or story or quip

Or a rhyme of profundities!

Welcome old friend, it’s so good to see you!

All the better to hear you my dear!

I’ve missed our late musing and tangled web weaving!

The door is open and you’re welcome here!
