A first shot at a poem
If you only found out today,
That you might not have tomorrow
Would you pull the blanket over your head
or perhaps wade deep into sorrow.

Would you celebrate your life in the short time that's left
or retreat to your thoughts, right now a mess.
Would you call up your friends to let them all know
or call up your priest to confess.

Would any one care, it's common to worry
There's nothing to do but you're in no hurry.
