My Attempts at Poetry

(1) My Little Brother, Sam

Your mouth is like a volcano of words,
How can you find them all so quick?
Your face is like a puppy’s,
How can one say no?

Your eyes are bright like a star,
Don’t let that light burn out.
Your smile wide like the horizon,
Don’t let the world wash it away.


(2) A Pencil

A sword, tearing through words.
A device of destruction,
Or construction.

A creator of worlds.
An escape from life,
Off into my imagination.

A magical wand,
You whisk me away,
And close the door behind.
