A Daydream
The sound of rain dances on a tin roof as I drift away.
A gray day, a steady rain.
A cozy cabin, warmed by fire glow.
Frogs and crickets sing as raindrops play rhythm on the leaves.
And in your arms I lie.
Answered prayers that one day you would love me as I love you.

I know you were afraid—one broken heart is enough.
But I never stopped loving you, even when it went unnoticed,
Because you changed my heart, restored my faith in love.

In your aquamarine eyes are the dreams long hidden far away.
In your chest beats a heart so tender, but wounded from your past.
Oh, to love away your hurt, to hold you until your fears are distant memories.

The rain stops—the lonely silence and a beam of light pierce my daydream.
I am without you once again—praying one day you will love me as I love you.
