A commentary on what it means to be a great pitcher
In the course of watching a roofer add pitch
I thought to myself was it a gift or learned skill?
As I sit under a roof in the pouring rain
I am glad the roofer was a good pitcher

In the course of thristing for a drink
I thought to myself how far do I go to get It?
In the heat of the day liquid sweat poured away,
I am glad that the vessel at hand, a good pitcher

In the course of listening to a musical instrument
I thought to myself what allows for symphonic bliss?
As I sit in rapt joy the leader guide a note to sing
I am glad for the ear of a good pitcher of note to play

In the course of watching a baseball game
I thought to myself who could stop great hitters?
In the course of a game a big hit could win the game.
I am glad for good pitchers that win the day

Good pitchers can be hard to find wherever you go.
Thank God for the good pitchers for those in need.
I pitch these words for any astute enough to catch.
A good pitcher of truth is a treasure, a joy filled sign
