Childhood Drug Addiction and remembrance of the past.
Well we were sitting at the park and you didn't say a word,
I'd blamed the mess on the dog
I yelped at all the roundabouts but my pleas remained unheard.
Merry go all around with lies and double talk,
Drunk with tall tales on carousels we begged them just to stall.
Leaves were falling all about the cobbled driveway steps
One dead tree branches hung the strings of shoes
We tossed above our heads.
With the hot summer sun, and plastic bottle heaps,
Watch the neighborhood dogs chase their tails
And walk barefoot in the streets.

And you said "How the hell'd we get here?
There was so much on the line. But I don't want to get high
On anything that isn't mine.
So let's just bury it all and run away,
Cuz my family ain't no home."
Now I'm all alone, sick and sad
dying in hotel room
With a black needle stuck in my arm.

We chased beans round and round the corner store parking lot,
With knees scored by playground sand,
Our skin was bleeding red.
Drunk absolution with childish retribution
A boy with a bullet to the head.

And the Doctor said what shouldn't be said,
"Boy have ya ever thought of dyin'"
With a bottle and a gun pointed up the sky,
There's a cloud that laughs about empty threats,
He said, "Can't you see I'm trying?"
